San Diego and $$ on the trip:
- Remember that we are each responsible for our own personal and food costs while we are US side of the border, except for Sunday and Monday breakfasts for those of us staying at the hostel. Once we cross the border, all costs are covered with the money we raised. You may want to bring some money for souvenirs, icecream, snacks, etc.
- Try to check out ahead of time what you might want to do in San Diego – Balboa Park, San Diego zoo, museums in Balboa Park, aircraft carrier tour, ferry or drive to Coronado Island, historic Old Town, Seaport Village, etc. and plan money accordingly. Some things are free, others with a cost. For reference, our hostel is in the area called the Gaslamp Quarter.
- The second weekend in San Diego we are staying in a house by Sunset Cliffs. We will be able to make our own meals and/or go out.
- We have the van for both weekends!! Thank you Dan and Sam! Still get your Uber accounts up and running for those times when you want to do your own thing :). Public transport is pretty easy to use there, too.

Tijuana Accomodations
We will be staying in the “dorm” above the “Goat Shack” restaurant owned by our hosts, Jose and Lupe. Their address is C. Orion 6622 Col. Nueva Aurora, Tijuana.
The best way for someone to reach you in an emergency would be to contact Dan or Samantha via cell or email. I am including the information below if you would like to share with your family. Remember you are likely to not have internet service while there, but as those of you who have been before are aware, there is not really time or energy for communications, and its just a super good opportunity to unplug for a week or 2 if possible. You can certainly check with your carrier for an international plan, however, when we signed up a couple years ago, we were unable to get connected.
